Choose from two thicknesses of wire for your needs. The thicker wire can be held under greater tension, but the thinner wire will be easier to work with. Our straining wire is available in 50m lengths and is delivered in a roll for ease of storage. It’s also easy to transport and roll out when installing fencing.
Galvanised steel offers additional strength and durability. It protects the wire from rust and corrosion, so you can be confident your fencing will last a long time. Pair this straining wire with our ratchet wire strainers to easily maintain tension on the wire. The ratchets are easily adjusted as required.
To install a straining wire fence, you will need metal or wooden fence posts placed at regular intervals, no more than 2-3 metres apart. The fence posts will provide vertical support to the fence while the straining wire provides horizontal support. The result of a cost-effect fencing system with a low profile, allowing you to enjoy full visibility from all angles.
For added security and peace of mind, you can top your fencing with a single or double layer of barbed wire. This will not only protect the fence from downward compression, but it also adds overall height to the fencing.
